Visit to Santo Tomas museum.
Visit to the museum of University of Santo Tomas. We had a fabulous time in visiting this museum on the university campus. We had a wonderful time looking at the artifacts in the university museum. Shown around by beautifully dressed young woman, students from the university.
We watched three short Filipino films before the farewell Key note speech by Cristina Pantoja Hidalgo on the topic of “The Subversive Memory: Women Tell What Happened” and her book launch. Found her discussion of various women’s life as documented in her new book “Memoirs of Filipino Women” entitled “To Remember to Remember” hugely interesting. I bought three copies for family members.
The dinner was a grand affair with delicious food, marvelous company, generous hosts and gorgeous surroundings. I had time to meet my hosts from Santa Tomas University who hosted a literary session for me in their literature department on 21st October 2015 (see separate blog).
