Today, I had the pleasure of visiting the English department of the University of Delhi, which provides degrees for students from nearly 80 colleges. The visit started with me being 15 minutes late due to the heavy traffic of the city, and a punctured tyre, but it was quickly all forgotten. My visit was such a pleasant experience, and I enjoyed great interactivity with Master’s degree level students and their teachers. We had long discussions, including inter-cultural themes, writing in different genres, critical analysis of literary texts, freedom of expression, the processes of writing and other current topical issues.
