MACFEST is delighted to be partnering with Stretford Public Hall for the Herstories
Festival. Several female Muslim artists and speakers will be taking part, including
Qaisra Shahraz who will be speaking at the Festival launch party on Friday 10th May,
which will kick off a fantastic weekend of film and arts activities celebrating women &
histories.
On Saturday 11th May, MACFEST is pleased to offer a range of activities and events
celebrating Muslim heritage, including:- Cultural tables representing three countries: Pakistan, Bosnia & Libya.- A talk by Dudia Zilic, describing her experience of fleeing war torn Bosnia and moving to Manchester – Arabic calligraphy workshop with Farzana Patel- Documentary screening of a film by Mehboobeh Rajabi- Marbling art workshop with Rabia Avci- Manchester Arabic School girls performance led by Munira Alsusa, Headteacher.
Tickets to the launch party on Friday 10th May are £3 and entry on Saturday 11th May is free, from 11am – 5pm. All festival events will be held at Stretford Public Hall, Chester Road M32 0LG.
