Introduction

It was wonderful to be hosted by Ernest Mach Gymnasium in Hurth. School of my German host, Frau Thekla Von Dubois. The largest group I ever had in one hall – 370 students and a dozen of English teachers.

I was warmly welcomed and thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Students Input

Two students retold my story ‘A Pair of Jeans’. They were excellent presentations, I was thoroughly impressed. The students were very engaging. Enthusiastic and asked lots of questions.

Like the other schools I passionately promoted my message of peace and harmony and aimed and succeeded in building cultural bridges. In particular I spoke about living as a Muslim in difficult times and as a Muslim woman. Discussed at length my story a Pair of Jeans, the story behind the story.

Audience

Signing Books

It was lovely to meet and sign books for some students.

Peace Banner

Of course the session ended with the Peace Banner and in a loud clear voice saying the students repeated ‘No to Hate’.

Meeting with the Head teacher

It was lovely to meet the head teacher, present my book and pose with the banner outside the school.

Music Class

My host and her partner are musicians and it was pleasure to sit in a music class taught by Frau Dubois. I enjoyed listening to the music and students playing their instruments.
