Last week Qaisra visited Gulberg Government College for Women.

In the session entitled ‘ Building cultural bridges through Literature’ I talked on various topics, my novels.the distraction by social media on my writing life. women’s rights, feminism, respecting other faiths and cultures and giving lots of examples how I ‘Got out of my box’, our favourite books, Middlemarch, Anna kareinina, reading from my book ‘The Concubine & The Slave Catcher’ & Typhoon. Discussed my female characters, my research – interviewing over 100 Muslim women from around the world- describing my findings ie all women interviewed in Indonesia had love marriages and many rode motor bikes- and so on.”
